Range Rover Sport MK1: Stormer trooper

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport is a mid-sized luxury SUV first launched in 2004 with the L320 (Mk1) model and replaced 10 years later by the second generation Sport, codenamed L494 (Mk2) which went into production in 2013.

Though made to perform like its predecessors, the Sport's appeal lie primarily on its look than its abilities with its more muscular, hunkier, and sportier stance compared to the Range Rover.

Did you know that the Range Rover Sport was patterned after the Range Stormer concept car (pictured) which was introduced at the 2004 North American International Auto Show? The Stormer was a low-slung, short wheelbase 3-door coupè that was unusually "sporty" in the context of Land Rover's history. Although the final product didn't turn out to look exactly like the Stormer, it did have a sportier look with its side vents and bigger tyres and appealed to a segment who saw it as a "proper-looking" SUV that they've to own.

A facelifted model of the L320 was first shown at the New York Auto Show in April 2009. It featured a more aerodynamic front-end including new headlights, grille and bumper. Also revised were the rear lights and rear bumper. Interior revisions are more significant with a new fascia, steering wheel, door linings, seats, instruments and switchgear.

Though the L320 has been around for quite some time, heads still turn when one passes by. Want to keep those head spinning? Here are some Britpart upgrades and enhancements you can install to further enhance your Range Rover Sport's appearance!
